My encounter with Loretta Ewere

…how she died a month to her wedding

I had woken up that morning feeling so indifferent, it has been an interesting but emotional year for me;so many things that had better been left unsaid had transpired. Met Loretta, now deceased that fateful morning at her place of work.

That morning my perspective about life changed; enmeshed in my own thought about the situation of things and I saw two different people in a “world of theirs” and all of a sudden my eyes were laced with tears. It’s actually been a while I had been that emotional and all of a sudden I was full of praise. In the course of gaining my composure back and our gaze met, and she said “Let’s be thankful”. We had obviously shared the same thought.

We got talking almost immediately. “I love the way your brow is carved” she told me and I thanked her’ I added that I am a makeup Artiste and she told me about her upcoming wedding, showed her some of my works and she requested I do her makeup that day, so we exchanged numbers. She sought my idea on the ideal fabrics and colour to use and I gave my opinion. Loretta did something very significant for me that day but I choose to keep that to myself. I would have embarked on another self blame and torture that day but for her.
I sent her a message when I got home and couple of days later we saw. Never knew that was the last.

Loretta, though our encounter was very brisk but it was very significant. I was suppose to call her up about the wedding preparation but felt seeing face to face would be ideal since I will be in that neighborhood. Tuesday, October 4th, I asked about her from her colleague when I couldn’t find her on seat but she couldn’t give a definite answer, so I presumed she wasn’t around; it could be her off day.

The thought to call her still never occur to me, I was contemplating on my next move when I saw a man I had met the same day I met her and I asked from him. And I got the greatest shock, Loretta is no more. In his exact words, “Loretta passed on Saturday, 1st of Oct 2016” and I couldn’t close my mouth. I was like her wedding is next month and he replied Yes! “She got electrocuted by a DSTV cable and she slumped, before she could be rushed to the hospital, she gave up” he added.

I was in shock till I got home.

According to the story, 35 year-old Loretta got electrocuted in her fiance’s abode situated on Ajoke Kazeem Street in Idimu area of Lagos State. Her fiancĂ©, Segun Tolani was fixing an electrical fault when the incident which claimed her life happened. Gathered that Tolani had wanted to change his old cable TV decoder and antenna when the power was restored and he discovered he didn’t have electricity in his house.

He wanted to do fix the light himself but was advised by neighbours to get the service of an electrician, though he did but later decided to rent a ladder in the area because he felt the 2,500 he was charged was rather to high. Tolani was said to have called Loretta who was inside to assist him in holding the ladder. She held the ladder with one hand and held an iron pole beside the room with the other hand. While he was working, the wire fell and touched the pole she was holding and that was how she got electrocuted.

She was said to have been rushed to a private hospital in the area but was rejected before being confirmed dead at the Igando general hospital

Loretta, continue to rest in the bosom of our GOD.

As a student, he was a regular “face” in concerts usually at the popular Lekki Beach during festive periods of Christmas and Easters

Several people were stunned when news emanated that one of the foremost bachelors in the entertainment industry, Dapo Banjo popularly known as Dbanj has tied the knot. It came as shock to most people because of the way the event played out even though he was said to have stated in the past that his marriage was imminent but no one would hear about it.

With these different speculations making round, many have since concluded it could be one of the gimmicks often employed in the entertainment industry. Few still believed the harmonica player played a fast one of his fans and friends, that he is still single though he could be “off searching”.

According to the story, the iconic singer was said to have performed the registry and traditional rites of his bride at his parent’s Maryland abode on Saturday, June 2nd rather than that of the bride because he wanted the event as clandestine as possible. Some even alleged the affair was done the same day with his father’s birthday all in the bid to make the event a guarded one.

He reportedly tied the knot with Didi kilgrow, an American who have both Nigeria and South African roots; the 25 year old lady who we gathered grew up in Jos is currently studying in University of Abuja. Didi is the half sister of MTV VJ Samantha Walsh, famous host of the “Big Friday Show” co anchored with Falz.

A bird squealed that Dbanj and Kilgrow started dating in January 2015 and her humble nature blew away the Koko master’s heart, he was said to have proposed four months ago.
Dbanj had in the past dated one of the leading Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, Jennifer Obayunwa, gist merchant even also alleged popular blogger, Linda was not left out.

Linda Ikeji soars

Months back, popular blogger, Linda Ikeji broke the internet when news of her five hundred Million naira mansion in Banana Island emerged. Many couldn’t believe she would have achieved such feat single handedly considering what she does for herself as a blogger. Well that has been in the past, the onetime model has since been enjoying the fulfillment that comes with being a landlady.

And just recently, news that the blogger would be moving into a multi million naira office surfaced. The massive new office we gathered is located in Lekki phase 1.She recently broke the news couple of days back.

According to her “I am creating four new brands under Linda Ikeji Media Ltd. The first is Linda Ikeji TV.I am creating my own on line TV network. The second is Linda ikeji Radio but not a radio station like many have thought .The third brand is Linda Ikeji Music, it’s strictly music website for everything music in Nigeria. Then there is LIS, which I hope will be my biggest brand yet”. So including LIB, I have five brands to manage now, she added.

In a recent chat with Genevieve magazine, she shared her thought on the pressure women face to get married before 30.
“Marriage is an achievement. There is so much more to life than being someone’s wife. Get married please, but don’t be pressured into it. I don’t know how many of you single ladies are under pressure to get married but I am. Pressure from family, friends and people who can’t just mind their business, the pressure is so intense now I feel like going to husband market…

Stella Damasus says she is not a husband snatcher but...

It is no longer news that beautiful Nollywood actress cum singer, Stella Damasus has been living with Daniel Ademinokan in the United States of America for sometimes. For those who don't know,Daniel Ademinokan is the erstwhile husband of another nollywood actress,Doris Simeon. The one time celebrated relationship produced a boy.

For years, Stella's friends, colleagues and fans avoided her like plague because they couldn't confront her and others who could, only call her out on different social media platforms to express their opinion. She has lived with the name "husband snatcher" for years but little or nothing has been heard from the light complexioned mother of two who seems unperturbed.
But recently, she wrote, “I have kept mum on the allegation until now and I feel it’s time I expressed myself.”One of the comments I have seen consistently, over and over again is, ‘Stella snatches somebody’s husband’; ‘Stella the husband snatcher’; which is what has been going on.

“And I had sworn that I would never talk about it or even listen or stress myself about the issue. But I have decided to talk about it now, so that I end it once and for all’, she said.“How is it possible to go to somebody’s home, take a happily married man, take his son away from his home and say follow me.

“Let’s assume you are a man, and according to their story, he is happily married inside his home with his family complete, and I walk into that home to forcefully take a man, able-bodied man, and a kid, away from somebody’s hand and you are there looking at me.
“So, logically, if people actually sit down and think about it intelligently, how do you snatch somebody from somebody and the person is there looking at you? “So when you see a man who has settled ties with a woman and decides to move on with his life and you feel that there is something in this man that you like and he likes you, is there a problem there?
“I am not a kid. I am 38 years old. I am not about to start hiding myself’ she said.

But I remember vividly years ago when she and the same ex husband of Doris simeon, Daniel sauntered into one of the indoor halls of Lagos Television, the venue where one of Nigeria's earliest quitessential journalist, Femi Akintunde Johnson popularly known as FAJ was having his birthday and book launching. This was way before the relationship between Doris and Daniel crashed like a pack of badly arranged cards
Yours sincerely almost asked where and when the friendship started because I couldn't really place them together. But as time evolved, "we" learnt they were working as "partners" on something related to business.

Fast forward to 2016,Stella and Daniel are still business partners

When dearest "Cuz" said I Do!

...How she became Mrs Olalekan

Enjoy the bride's story.

I met the love of my life, Olawale Sabur Olalekan on Facebook in June 2011. Getting a preferable girl of his tribe and religion in Abuja where he lives seemed a difficult task.He explained that one fateful day he made up his mind to search Facebook for a girl and the first name that crossed his mind was  "Fatima".

I was the first "Fatima" at the top because we had 2 mutual friends, one of our mutual friends was his former hostel mate in Olabisi Onabanjo University(OOU), Pharm Funmi Adeleke who happens to be a school daughter to my elder sister while in OOU,she is more of a family friend to us. In fact, she met her hubby through my sister.

Hardly do I accept request from people i don't know on FB, so I couldn't fathom till date how we became friends .To cut the long story short anytime he sees me online he would ask for number but I refused.
But one day he sent " I SWEAR BY THE NAME OF ALMIGHTY ALLAH I HAVE GOOD INTENTIONS" and I laughed.

Though it seemed funny but that was the first time I really noticed him. I checked his profile picture but it wasn't clear thus couldn't place his face. We had been chatting for a long time but I never noticed because he wasn't the only male asking for my number.

Pharm. Funmi tried convincing me to give him a chance that he is a good person but I told her about my relationship so she advised I tell him and I did. But to my utter most surprise he said that shouldn't stop us from being friends and so we exchange numbers.
We got talking and I asked about his relationship status and he explained what transpired between his last girlfriend. I appreciate the fact that he never lied.

Shocking facts Tiwa Savage revealed about Tee Blizz

No one would have thought Tiwa Savage who was looking radiant at the 4th Edition of Nigeria Entertainment Conference(NEC) recently organised by NETng had gone through so much.

She was one of the panelist and had spoken on difficulties many Nigerian artistes go through in order to promote their content.

Her husband of over two years,Tunji Balogun popularly known as Tee Blizz took to social media on Thursday,April 28,2016 to level allegations of home neglect, infidelity amongst others. He had contemplated suicide but was rescued by Banky W and Peter Okoye.

A lot of of people were surprised because everyone thought their supposed marriage was in good shape.
The "Kele-Kele" crooner addressed the shocking accusations leveled against her by her husband on Friday.
Below are the excerpt:

1. When I woke up, I thought they found him dead. My first thought was that we need to find him, he is suicidal, and we need to make sure he is alive. I didn’t even know what he had said. Someone took my phone from me, they don’t want me to see what was said online. I was just sacred for his life.

2. At around 10 and 11, Banky W’s Mum and his family were praying, and we got the call that he was found in Lekki, and that he has been taken to Banky’s House.

3. For the past two months, TJ and I have not been together, it was something we were working through, but I knew this marriage would not work.

4. I haven’t spoke to TJ in about a week, and we were supposed to get some passports for my son. He was reading the messages and he wasn’t responding. I begged him to be friends, and let’s be good parents to Jamil. He didn’t respond.

5. I covered up for a lot of hurt in our relationship. Just before I went to Jamaica, I found out that I was pregnant. We were just trying to find out how we were going to manage another baby so soon. I got to London, on a 10-hour flight to shoot a video with Busy Signal (Reggae Artiste). While doing my makeup, I found out I was bleeding and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital, and we were trying to call TJ to tell him what happened. While we were sleeping at two AM a number called him saved as Edible Catering….I checked his phone, and the number was asking him if she can come to his hotel. She responded that He (TJ) knocked her out last night, that he was a great night. I confronted him, and he said he took another woman to the hotel and said they were just chilling. This happened the period I was in Jamaica, and I was in the hospital. I sent TJ pictures, and he was busy with another woman. I was in ahospital and you couldn’t be bothered find out what happened to me. I packed my stuff, took my son and went to my friends house, her name is Tiwa also. I stayed the night, and she asked me for the next step, I told her I was done.

6. I covered up for so long because I wanted people to believe that TJ is the one that takes care of me, TJ is the head of the house…I wanted him to be the head of the house. I covered up so much.

I missed you yesterday,I miss you now and I will miss you forever.

Adebimpe,it is exactly a month today you departed this world and your one month absence seems like forever.I still could not bring myself to accept that you 're truly gone leaving behind three beautiful kids and never to return.

You have embarked on some "dangerous happenstance" in the past yet nothing happened but this very one without a definition took you. But who are we to question HIM.

I still remember that fateful morning I received the shocking news of your death but I could not bring myself to that realisation because I saw you couple of days back. With your ever warming personality ,you almost couldn't let me go that day,you clung to me while my friend who was with me was amazed at your cheerful demeanour . You almost left your shop so we could chat more even though we saw days before.

Adebimpe,I never knew it would be that soon,I would have spent that whole day with you. I missed you yesterday,I miss you now and I will miss you forever.

Though we started through a customer relationship but as time and event unfolded we grew to become friends and sisters. For years you designed attires I shielded my fears and uncertainty in.

I have lost moments I wish I could have back.Relationships I treasured for years went into extinction in my very present eyes, people I truly loved became distant through "life deceit" but those situations all seemed painless now,the fact that I won't see you again saddened me greatly. But in all humbled me more.

I almost lost my mind years ago when a relationship I nurtured for over a decade fell like a pack of badly arranged card. And even when I kept blaming myself for some of the things  I never did right or I wished I had done more, you kept saying I never got it wrong because you were to  an extent part of the story.

It dawn on me you were truly gone when I saw your lifeless body and finally when you were lowered to the ground.

"Dudu" Continue to rest on...
 You are greatly missed!

Adieu Adebimpe Monsurat.
