Ever since Big Brother Hotshot reality Tv show ended on Sunday with Tanzania’s housemate emerging the winner, a lot of Nigerians have been saying Tayo Faniran Nigeria’s representative at BBA should have won. But since Tanzania's Idris won, they concluded Nigeria was cheated.

But then, according to new reports it seems God has compensated Tayo through billionaire Ariyi Emami who people say just donated the sum of $350,000 to Tayo. Okgist.com broke the news and claims it is true. Some of his twitter followers have also been talking about it online.

Remember Tayo's girlfriend also gave birth to a baby boy while he was still in the house? Well Tayo who has returned back to the country is so excited meeting his son for the first time.

It is no longer news that marriage of Nollywood actress, Ini Edo and her erstwhile husband,Phillip Ehiagwina crashed, but recently an insider who claimed being close to them since they started dating till they got married said the actress is a good wife, and took a lot of things most women won’t naturally take.

The artiste also known as Tentebo Soldier, died on Sunday morning after suffering from an illness. Another colleague of the deceased told said the cause of the illness was not known and from pictures revealed, the late musician must have suffered great pains before leaving this world.

Popular music act, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall said his upcoming concert tagged “K1 Live Unusual” will correct a lot of misconception about Fuji music. The concert which will feature top performers like Tuface and Olamide, will take place at the Eko Hotel and Suites on November 21. Kwam 1 said the purpose behind the concert was to present good music in a unique way, a music different from what Nigerian music lovers have seen in the past. He stated that the idea was not entirely new. “Although, some people started it, we are going to add more flavours to the fun. We call it unusual because there are lots of misconception about fuji music. Some people even said it’s the music of the touts, but these are absolutely false and untrue. The fact is, fuji music remains the leading and surviving indigenous music in Nigeria” he added. One of the ‘unusuals’ is that, for the first time, a fuji artiste is going to headline a show, that has leading Nigerian entertainers such as 2face, Lagbaja, Olamide, among others.” Kwam1 also spoke about the influence of fuji music on pop music. He said fuji music could not be isolated from other genres of music in Nigeria. “There is an element of fuji in every song you listened to nowadays. This goes to tell you the importance of fuji music,” he said. When asked if it was easy for the organizers to convince him to perform, he said: “No! Not at all. It’s our idea. About Ibinabo Fiberisima's husband to be

Finally the president of the Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fibersima reveals the face of her husband to be. Uche and Ibinabo who will be getting married in December were recently sighted while on vacation in Disney land and Universal World of adventure.

We gathered Uche is a graduate of English Language and Literature/Letters from University of Ibadan, where Ibinabo also graduated from. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the Central Michigan University and later got a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree at the Liberty University in 2013.

His work career started as a Press Intern with the Government House Press Corps in Akwa Ibom State in 1994.He was later employed as a Security Analyst at the Nigerian Consulate Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. In 1998, he joined the United States Army as a Logistics Specialist/Quarter Master. 

From 2005 to 2008, he was Chief Operating Officer, Agape LLC before joining LifeCare Solutions, a Health, Wellness and Fitness company, as Director of Operations. Uche is currently employed as Health Systems Specialist at the Eisenhower Army Hospital, a position he took in 2012.

Their 2-day wedding affair is billed to hold on December 18 and 19, 2014 at Ibinabo’s hometown in Okrika, Rivers state. 

OC Ukeje quits bachelorhood

 

On Saturday, November 8, 2014, one of Nigeria most talented actor, OC Ukeje will be walking down the aisle with his wife, Ibukun Togonu. The private wedding will hold at the Youth Church Hall, Hoares Memorial Methodist Cathedral, located in Yaba, Lagos, while the reception will take place The Incubator, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Though many may be surprised about this but in 2013 during an interview, the actor said he would finally settle down in 2014.He said “God's willing, I plan to get married next year (2014). There is a woman in my life and she is not into this business. We have never had issues over me and my female fans. This is not to say that she is not aware. She is definitely aware but I am not also settling down with someone that is not good looking because she gets chased by men as well. 

”There are people, who are higher in level than I am, they have more money than I have and might be interested in her. I see some of those and might be worried. It is a two-way streak; she’s scared, I’m scared but we are together and making it work,”

Over the weekend, we gather Wizkid who was in Nairobi to shoot a video and also had one or two shows was arrested at Nairobi Crown Plaza, a non-smoking hotel where he was lodged.

A Nairobian website gave account of the scene reported that the Nigerian star was arrested when he was about checking out of the hotel after it was discovered he had smoked an illegal substance- weed. The hotel manager questioned him about the illegal act, which made them have a hot argument, before the hotel security men called in the police.

Victoria Kimani who had been visiting him in his hotel room was also there to help him check out and witnessed the whole scenario. When the police came, they insisted he will have to follow them to their station; Capital Hill Police Station after they handcuffed him. Even though he had paid the Sh50, 000 fine the hotel charges for breaking their rules, he was still taken away before he finally sort himself out.

Betty Irabo, the founder of The Pink Ball Cancer Benefit recently went on Twitter to advise celebrities on how best to manage their marriages. The Publisher of Genevieve Magazine advised Nigerian celebrities to stop living their lives on social media.
“Celebrities should try to keep their union private, and away from media scrutiny”.

Oscar Pistorius trial: South African prosecutors to appeal against culpable homicide verdict and sentence

South Africa's National Prosecuting Authority has said it will appeal against the conviction and sentence given to Oscar Pistorius. Prosecutors were not happy with the culpable homicide conviction and five-year prison sentence given by Judge Thokozile Masipa. Pistorius who began his prison term on 21 October is currently eligible for release after ten months to complete his sentence under house arrest.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel had argued that only ten years' imprisonment would satisfy the public. Some legal experts believe Judge Masipa erred in her interpretation of "murder dolus eventualis", a legal term for when the perpetrator foresees the possibility of his action causing death and persists regardless. Masipa accepted that a "reasonable" person would have foreseen that shooting into the door of a small toilet cubicle may have killed the person inside.

However, she said South African law warns against automatically assuming that because a perpetrator "should have" foreseen the consequences of his actions that he actually did. The onus was on the state to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Pistorius foresaw the fatal consequences of his actions when he shot at the door, but the judge said the prosecution failed to do so.

In a statement released the NPA said that the appeal on conviction is based on the question of law. "The merits, demerits of the NPA's argument in this regard will become evident when we file papers for leave to appeal," it said. "The prosecutors are now preparing the necessary papers in order to be able to file within the next few days." June Steenkamp, Reeva's mother, said the family had been "devastated" when Masipa ruled out murder and pre-meditated murder, but said that after sentencing they felt that justice had been done. "We were happy with the sentence – five years is sufficient," she said.

The beautiful photographer who has been battling inoperable esophageal cancer for a year now died on Saturday, October at the age of 33. Yosra was opened about the disease and chronicled her battle with it on her instagram page. It is no longer news that marriage of beautiful Nollywood actress, Ini Edo to her American based business man, Phillips Ehiagwina has crashed. But the event has taken another dimension as her in-laws threatened to make public some of her dirty dealings while she was still legally married to her husband, Philips Ehiagwina, while also calling her a liar for saying she never cheated on her husband.

After 45years, Nigeria Flag designer got decorated with National Honour

President Goodluck Jonathan has placed Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, the designer of the Nigerian Flag, on the salary of a Special Assistant forever. Taiwo Akinkunmi popularly called Mr Flag Man was a Retired Nigerian civil servant born 10 May 1936 ,he got famous for designing the Flag of Nigeria. The national flag is an adaptation of the winning entry from Taiwo Akinkunmi in a competition held in 1959. The original had a red sun with streaming rays placed at the top of the white stripe. This was removed by the judges and the flag has not been altered since.

In this interview with Yinka Lawal Mike speaks about his role in Dayo Amusa’s Unforgivable movie which won him awards at the Best of Nollywood awards, where he acted along other Yoruba movie cast, delivered his Yoruba line fluently.
You have been scarce lately in movies
I am not scarce, the truth of the matter is I am always very busy, I can’t say I am resting, I have been busy, you can say I have been selective in movies I take now and the roles I take. You get to a level that you cannot do everything that comes your way; you have to select the one you think is good because you owe lot of allegiance to your fans and to yourself you have to keep it moving. If you are passionate about what you do and I believe right now I should do movies that should set me on a better bright light.
Are working on anything presently now?
I just finished shooting an international movie
Is it produced by you?
Not yet, still watching the terrain, would say I am a near getting there, I would like to capitalize on people. You have to understand the terrain properly before you can say you want to produce, a lot of my colleagues are producing but I am not ready for that now. I am watching the water, when the water is still, will jump in it.
Can you tell us about the international Movie?
It is a movie I just finished shooting in Canada, it is shot with foreign Canadian directors and some Barbados, It is a series in Canada and in the states too ,I know some people will not be familiar with. In Hollywood, people buy movies because of its content unlike the way people buy movies here; it is the one with huge contents.

Dr Sid speaks on Surulere.

Dr Sid, born Sidney Onoriode Esiri, son of late legendary actor, Justus Esiri has carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry. The dentist turned singer who got signed by one of the giant Tele communications in Nigeria, MTN recently got married to his partner of several years, Simi Osomo.

The singer talked about the inspiration behind the song, “Surulere”. “Obviously some people were mistaking Surulere thinking we were talking about Surulere, the area. It does work on two levels” he said

We hail the people from Surulere because even I, as an artiste, when I started out in music with Trybe Records, we were based in Surulere. Surulere basically means ‘Patience is rewarding’ and it’s just a song that describes the journey of Dr Sid; Where I’ve been, where I’m at right now, where I’m going to, that’s the idea. We’re trying to create a song that could capture that experience and we also wanted to make a song that people can relate to. When you listen to the song it speaks to something in your soul and hopefully, it would inspire you and motivate you to push and keep working harder”.

Kudos , knocks greets September 22 resumption.

The Nigeria Medical Association on Monday faulted the federal government directives to resume school on September 22 against the October 12 date announced earlier. Speaking through its National secretary-General, Dr Olawunmi Alayaki, he said that all schools ought to remain shut till all those under surveillance for Ebola virus disease in the country have been certified free. “We are not happy with this decision on the resumption of schools. Schools should be shut till the last suspected case or patient is certified of the virus”He said. He suggested that the resumption date of schools could be shifted till December or early part of next year because if Ebola should spread to any school, it would assume another dimension. He added that parents should have no reason to be in hurry because children cannot survive the isolation like adults. Emphasizing on the point, the chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the association, Dr Tope Ojo said most public schools lack basic hygienic facilities and this would expose the students to easy spread of the virus. “It would not have cost the Federal Government anything to have waited till those under surveillance have completed the 21 days in all the states where they are being monitored. The government knows that it takes a longer time for children to get used to the idea of hygiene and sanitation. They are even more vulnerable because they would play with each other whether they are sick or not. How many children know that they should use hand sanitizers or avoid contact with anybody that has fever? Waiting till October when at least the situations in Rivers and Lagos states would have been conclusively managed is another safety measure the government should have taken. These kids are not studying to get a degree, so we are sure it would not have affected schools’ curricula.” he said. Meanwhile, one of the parents feels; it will be in the same vein at the end of the day. “The kids would resume at the end of the day, they should resume but adequate measures should be provided to avoid further spread of the virus”. Though they should have said “until further notice” from inception rather than the confusion they are about to cause. Mr Yusuf Olawale said.

Damola Olatunji’s 1-Year Old Marriage In Trouble

The media was agog weeks back about the crisis in Nollywood actor, Damola Olatunji’s 1-year old marriage. Recently, his beautiful wife revealed how another Nollywood actress named Bukola Awoyemi has allegedly been having an affair with her husband.
The Uk based wife of Damola accused Bukola popularly known as Arugba of wanting to tear apart her marriage, she further divulged how her husband has been living with her in her Magodo home, instead of their matrimonial home.

I am sad, frustrated and I don’t know where to start from, what did I do to deserve this. I gave my all or is it a sin to love someone who claims to love you. Damola and I didn’t have any issue neither did we have any major quarrel just the normal ups and downs that married couples have but I started feeling uneasy few weeks to our Wedding Anniversary when he rarely pick my calls nor reply my sms promptly and will only call me back in the middle of the night. Gist started filtering into my ears that Damola was seeing Bukky but I ignored. But when my husband won’t change I asked him and he denied that the only thing between them is work. Until Damola’s brother’s girlfriend called me to tell me that Damola actually brought Bukky to Osogbo and they went to Damola’s uncle home where she made dinner for him before they went into the room to make love and it started to make sense to me because like thrice in the middle of the night I had seen Bukky’s text messages to Damola saying I miss you, I love you and can’t wait to see you. I allowed it to slide because guys in the industry are in the habit of calling themselves darlings and all.

But when I knew I was in serious trouble was when I came home for our Anniversary and Damola didn’t pick me at the Airport. On getting home, I noticed that Damola had packed all our wedding pictures and all my properties into the guest room. While waiting for him I took a look at his ipad and behold I read his messages with Bukky talking about the romantic getaways, the fact that he does not want me again and he professing love to Bukky.

I was at home for 30days and Damola only slept at home once. Later I heard he was with Bukky in Magodo, then I went to see his parents but got the shock of my life, as they told me pointblank that they would only want what their son wants. All my parents efforts to make peace, has been turned down by his parents. I have not spoken to Damola for over 70days as he neither picks my call nor reply my sms.
Damola whose marriage was consummated last year has been linked to another older actress in the past.
